Delete your account

You can ask us to delete your Gardian account and the data attached to it at any time.

If you still have the app

Open Gardian and tap the gear at the top to open Settings. At the bottom is Delete my account. You confirm before anything happens, and the deletion runs straight away.

If you have already uninstalled the app

Email magnus.bateman@gmail.com from the address you used in Gardian and say you want your account deleted. We will do it for you and confirm when it is done, normally within 30 days.

What goes

Your login is removed, so the account can no longer be used. We delete your conversations with the coach, your diary notes, your photos and your precise location.

What stays, and why

The rest is anonymised rather than deleted: your areas, projects and tasks are irreversibly disconnected from you, so they can no longer be traced back to a person. We keep them as anonymous, non-identifying information. It is also why a deletion cannot be undone, and why we cannot recover the account for you afterwards.

Backups are deleted on their normal rotation and are not rewritten by a deletion.
